Valby Vokalgruppe (DK)
Symposium Group works? On Feminism, Friendship and Borderlessness
Monday 31. October – Danish Academy of Fine Arts
Valby Vokalgruppe was founded as an experiment in 2008 by Anja Jacobsen. What started out as an exploration of voices has for the past eight years developed into a band that includes voices, keyboards, saxophone, effect pedals and percussion – still with the voices at the center of all compositions. The group has during the past two years begun a collective compositional process which has resulted in the works Harmony of the exospheres for Click Festival 2016 and Shock and Awe for a DaDa event at Arken in 2014. Valby Vokalgruppe is Lil Lacy, Sonja LaBianca, Cæcilie Trier and Anja Jacobsen. The members of the group are active on the Danish and international music scene in projects like Selvhenter, CTM, Soma & Lil, Frk. Jacobsen and Sonja LaBianca. At the WORKS AT WORK symposium “Group works? On Feminism, Friendship and Borderlessness” Valby Vokalgruppe is invited as a Danish perspective on group work from the field of music. They will perform acoustic songs in an adventurous field between minimalism, trance music and pop – in a synthesis of an ancient and new form of music.
