Invasive Hospitality Redux
20.00 Wednesday 28. October – Dansehallerne
Invasive Hospitality is an exercise in thinking together in churning over how we think when we think about what we think. It explores how performance strategies create their own spaces, dynamics and frictional points in juxtaposing high and low culture, material and theory, image and word, private and public, repetition and ellipsis. “Invasive Hospitality” is a formate Zacharias takes wherever work takes her. She invites local artists into the dialogue. Over time we create a glossar of performance vis a vis theory, articulated through the concerns, associations, and aberrations of individual artists. It acts itself out in two formats: performances of the dialogues and a final publication of the transcripts and illustrations from the different dialogues. Hosts as yet: PsI17 Performance and Philosophy London, documenta13 Kassel, SEAM13 Sydney, Tanznacht2014 Berlin. For WORKS AT WORK: duo works Siegmar Zacharias has invited the Artistic Director of the festival, Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt, to join a Redux edition of Invasive Hospitality.
Siegmar Zacharias works in the practice and theory of performance. She is working in situations of embodied thinking together through matters and matter. This practice collides approaches from philosophy, with pop culture, science and parascience. Observing and realising the entanglement of the relations of human and non-human actors in different constellations into an ecology of performance. Her works have been shown internationally and she teaches at universities and institutions in Berlin, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Sydney.
