female trouble (DE/PL/IL)

Cracking Circles

Monday 31. October –  Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts

Over  the  course  of  one  week female  trouble engage  in  conversations  with various  agents  of  the  dance  &  performance  and  queer  art  communities  in Copenhagen, as well as WAW festival’s invited artists. The goal is to meet, to get  to  know,  to  learn  from,  to  be  inspired  by,  to  motivate  to,  to argue  on,  to disagree  with,  to  network,  to  continue  figuring  out  the  building  of  temporary, fragile  communities. The  encounters  are  taking  effect  through  the  lens  of working  with  friends/friends  at  work.  How  do  we  become  friends  with  artists we don’t know, and what’s the point of doing so? How can we take friendship as a working frame and mode?  The  content  of  the  encounters  will  be  shared  in  the  Symposium “Group works? Feminism and friendship in neoliberalism”.

ABOUT:

female trouble are a friendship based collective (Roni Katz, Agata Siniarska, Xenia Taniko Dwertmann) working in Berlin since 2013. We share a mutual process of artistic, intellectual, personal and political exchange revolving around art(istic) work(s), bodies, femininities and feminisms. female trouble initiated the public platform VULVA CLUB with the objective of bolstering and activating a community. VULVA CLUB is a regular event series, an attempt towards peripheral visibility. With VULVA CLUB female trouble invite guests and fellows to choreograph the encounters of art/works, people, communities and conversations – all through mutual affection in real time. On other occasions we perform our practice of circulating scores that accumulates and reformulates three bodies reading, writing and dancing with one another.
